Derek Goldsmith is a Partner and Business Unit Leader at Kelley Kronenberg, focusing his practice on first-party property insurance defense. Derek represents insurance carriers in all aspects of homeowner coverage disputes, including pre-litigation claim investigations and litigation defense.
Derek started his career as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, where he served as first chair in numerous felony jury trials to verdict, prosecuting first-, second-, and third-degree felonies. Following his years at the State Attorney’s office, Derek gained experience practicing first-party property insurance defense, commercial and business litigation.
Derek earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Economics from the University of Florida. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law.
