Kurt Ciell is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg, focusing his practice on first-party property insurance defense. He brings over a decade of specialized experience representing insurance carriers in property claims litigation under both homeowners and commercial residential policies.
Kurt has established an exceptional record of success, prevailing on over thirty dispositive motions in complex assignee claim cases and securing favorable summary judgment rulings on critical issues including post-loss policy compliance and appraisal demands. Prior to joining the firm, Kurt represented a large commercial residential insurance carrier in first-party property claim investigations and defense litigation, gaining comprehensive experience with coverage issues. His background also includes working with a multinational manufacturing company’s intellectual property counsel, where he drafted patent applications and conducted sophisticated legal research.
Kurt graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in German. He earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law, where he received certificates in Intellectual Property and Pro Bono Work and studied abroad in Montpellier, France.
