Matthew P. Strauss

Partner

Matthew Strauss is a Partner and Business Unit Leader at Kelley Kronenberg, where he assists in handling matters related to first-party insurance defense.

Before joining the firm, Matthew worked for the City of New York. He started as an Equal Opportunity Investigator for the NYC Department of Education and then served as an Assistant General Counsel for both the NYC Employees’ Retirement System and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services. Matthew managed numerous litigation matters handled by the New York City Law Department.

Matthew also has experience handling various labor and employment matters for government entities and private companies.

Matthew earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a double major in Business Management & Organization and Marketing from the University of Miami where he was a Bowman Foster Ashe Scholarship recipient. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School. While attending law school, Matthew served as an Intern for the New York City Law Department, Workers’ Compensation Division, as well as for the NYC Office of Labor Relations, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the U.S. Department of Labor.

Matthew is also a Certified Water Damage Restoration Technician, accredited by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC).
