V. Alexander Monteith

Partner

V. Alexander (“Alex”) Monteith is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg, focusing his practice on the defense of general liability and third-party insurance matters, including automobile liability, construction litigation, negligent security, products liability, premises liability, and trucking and commercial transportation.

Prior to joining Kelley Kronenberg, Alex gained extensive courtroom experience prosecuting a wide variety of criminal cases when he was appointed as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit. In total, he has tried over 50 bench and jury trials in both Kansas and Florida State Courts. After serving as a prosecutor, Alex worked as a Senior Associate with a national civil litigation defense firm in Tampa, Florida where he obtained multiple defense verdicts after trial where plaintiffs claimed more than seven figures in damages and prevailed on several Motions for Summary Judgment, achieving optimal outcomes for his clients.

Alex completed his undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida with a major in History and minor in Leadership Studies. While attending USF, he was heavily involved, serving as President of the Delta Chi Fraternity and a Senator in Student Government.

Upon graduating from USF, Alex obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas, where he served as an Editor for the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy. He authored Cell Site Location Information: A Catalyst For Change In Fourth Amendment Jurisprudence, which has been cited in other scholarly legal publications such as the Southern University Law Review, Catholic University Journal of Law & Technology, University of Richmond Journal of Law & Technology, and the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Magazine. Additionally, Alex’s publications have been cited in amicus briefs to the Supreme Court of the United States.
