Effective September 30, 2026, Florida’s minimum wage rises to $15.00 per hour, with the required wage for tipped employees increasing to $11.98 per hour. This marks the final scheduled increase under the state’s original phase in schedule. Beginning next year, Florida’s minimum wage will be indexed to inflation and adjusted annually each September.
All Florida employers must post the current minimum wage notice where employees can see it, and existing postings need to be updated to reflect the new rate before the effective date. Employers should also review payroll systems now to confirm compliance.
A lot of employment lawsuits occur in Florida. Unpaid wages, unpaid overtime and tip credit issues are the number one claim made in these filings. Make sure you’re not one of the numbers.
