Talya Haas is a Practice Partner at Kelley Kronenberg, where she handles general liability and third-party insurance defense, professional liability defense, and Employer Practices Liability Insurance defense matters.
Talya represents clients in state and federal civil litigation matters, bringing extensive experience in third-party litigation including complex commercial disputes, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury negligence claims. Previously, she focused on labor and employment law, representing clients in a full range of employment-related claims including sexual harassment, employment discrimination, wage and hour claims, wrongful discharge, and retaliation. She advised clients on compliance with local laws and regulations, counseled clients during agency investigations, and represented clients in subsequent litigation—experience that sharpened her approach to regulatory issues and risk management in defense matters.
Before joining Kelley Kronenberg, Talya served as an Associate Attorney, providing counsel and guidance to clients in complex employment litigation cases. Her responsibilities included proactively preparing and recommending compliant terms for employee handbooks, ensuring alignment with best practices regarding federal and state laws of hiring, discipline, leave issues, termination, ADA, and FMLA, and implementing and structuring robust employment policies.
Talya earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Florida International University. She went on to achieve her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, receiving the Silver Pro Bono Honors Distinction and making the Dean’s list. She also served as Junior Associate Editor of the Nova Law Review, Executive Coordinator of the Nova Trial Association, Advocate in the Moot Court Honor Society, and President of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers.
Talya is a proud native of South Africa.
