Jelica V. Delaine

Partner

Jelica Delaine is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg in the General Liability Division focusing her practice on general liability, premises liability, bodily injury, and wrongful death matters, as well as family law and criminal law. She represents clients from case inception through resolution, guiding matters through litigation to achieve favorable outcomes.

Early in her career, Jelica served as an assistant attorney general, providing legal counsel to a state regulatory agency and first-chairing more than three hundred bench hearings, while performing legal analysis and preparing orders, memoranda, and motions for hearing officers and judges. She then served as an assistant state attorney, prosecuting criminal, traffic, and juvenile matters on behalf of the state, first-chairing three jury trials and second-chairing eight others, while also defending motions to suppress and dismiss and handling violation of probation and competency matters.

From there, her practice turned to family law, where she served as lead counsel in dissolution of marriage, paternity, and dependency matters. She went on to found and manage her own law firm, building a practice focused on family and criminal law while overseeing all aspects of firm operations, including client relations and business development. Her focus later shifted to general liability defense, representing insurance carriers and corporate clients in premises liability, bodily injury, and wrongful death matters, and managing litigation through discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial.

Jelica earned her Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law.
